Seoul National University Hospital has been dedicated to public health for the past 100 years, leading the development of medicine in Korea. It was founded in 1885 as the first national hospital in Korea under the name of Kwang Hye Won.

Today the hospital consists of the General Hospital, the Children's Hospital, the Oncology Hospital, the Dental Hospital and the Clinical Research Institute.
More than 1,751 hospital beds, approximately 2,000 inpatients and 9,000 outpatients are treated daily by 1,835 physicians and 6,398 employees.
